Our Mission

It is the mission of the Central Wyoming Chapter of the American Petroleum Institute to influence public policy in support of a strong, viable U.S. oil and natural gas industry essential to meet the energy needs of consumers in an efficient, environmentally responsible manner. We also heighten local awareness of our organization by raising funds for Central Wyoming charities and recipients of our scholarship fund.

Brian Scott Gamroth 1965 - 2016

The loss of Brian Scott Gamroth is indescribable to us at the API, our city and state.  It was no secret that he loved our community and the state of Wyoming.  He walked the walk and invested countless (and we mean countless) hours back to its citizens.  We would often joke about scheduling him years in advance, but he always made time for us.  Brian was present, he was passionate and gave 150% to our cause.  He made all of us at the API feel special and that our event was valued and one of a kind.  No doubt that he touched individuals, businesses, charities and causes the same way he did us at the API.  His handshake and hugs were as powerful as his voice.

This year, the API Chili Cook Off will be going into its 29th year and Brian has been with us since day 1.  He has helped the API raise millions of dollars for this community at our annual event.  Brian was the face, the voice and the spirit of the API Chili Cook Off and he represented us well.  We smile thinking about this, but, he never shied away from whatever ridiculous costume we dressed him up in.  Like so many others, we wonder what we are going to do without him.  We at the API can’t think of the Chili Cook Off without him, nor can we replace Brian.

Maybe we can all fill some of his void.  Be kind.  Give back.  Give your time.  Get involved.  Invest in our community.

Cheers to you Brian Scott.  We will miss you.
